The NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand: A Review
The NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand is my newest at-home skin care device, and even though I was skeptical at first, it has proven me wrong.
The NuDerma Wand is popular for it’s claims to promote cell turnover, reduce acne, diminish fine lines, and soften wrinkles, while also boosting collagen production for a better overall complexion.
I had heard of this device but wasn’t too familiar with it until my Mom bought me one when I was having a mid-life hormonal acne phase. I must say it has lived up to its hype and has saved me some money on in-office treatments and facials.
What Do High Frequency Devices Do?
High-frequency treatments for the skin involve the use of a high-frequency device that generates a low-level electrical current and applies it to the skin. This technique is often used in esthetics and skincare to address various skin concerns. Here are some of the potential benefits and effects of high-frequency treatments on the skin:
- Acne Treatment: High-frequency treatments are commonly used to combat acne. The electrical current has antibacterial properties that can help kill the bacteria responsible for acne breakouts, such as Propionibacterium acnes. It also helps to reduce inflammation and promote healing.
- Improves Circulation: The high-frequency device can stimulate blood circulation in the skin. Improved circulation can lead to better oxygenation of skin cells and the removal of waste products, potentially resulting in healthier-looking skin.
- Enhances Product Absorption: High-frequency treatments can enhance the absorption of skincare products. When applied after the application of serums or creams, the electrical current can help these products penetrate the skin more effectively.
- Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Some proponents claim that high-frequency treatments can help stimulate collagen production, which may reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time. However, the evidence for this effect is limited.
- Tightens and Tones: High-frequency treatments can promote skin tightening and toning, which may lead to improved skin texture and a more youthful appearance.
- Reduces Puffiness: The treatment can help reduce puffiness and swelling by promoting lymphatic drainage in the facial area.
- Improves Overall Skin Health: Regular high-frequency treatments may contribute to an overall improvement in skin health by promoting a balanced complexion and reducing the frequency of breakouts.
